Safety Upgrade Notice

Immediate Action Required

There are only three OmniMount products that are affected by the notice:

Plasma CL / 48ARM
Plasma UCL / 48ARMUA
FP-CL / 37ARM

Potential Problem

OmniMount is voluntarily affecting a product safety upgrade for the following flat panel wall mounts: all FP-CL units (also marketed as “37ARM”) shipped between June 1, 2005 and December 15, 2005; all Plasma CL units (also marketed as “48ARM”) shipped between March 3, 2005 and December 15, 2005; and all Plasma UCL units (also marketed as “48ARMUA”) shipped between November 2, 2004 and December 15, 2005. During this time, some units were shipped with screws that were too short to properly engage the wrist pin. This could lead to a loosening of the wrist pin, and in rare cases, mount failure. Because OmniMount holds its products to the highest safety standards, a solution has been developed which is both safe and easy to implement.

OmniMount's Solution

OmniMount has designed a Safety Upgrade Kit to eliminate any chance of the wrist pin loosening. This free kit includes an installation guide and DVD. Consult OmniMount Customer Service if you have any questions regarding the proper installation of this Safety Upgrade Kit. Consumers will be able to call OmniMount Customer Service toll-free at 1-800-668-6848 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. (Pacific time), send an e-mail to the company at safetykit@omnimount.com, or write to OmniMount, 1181 Trapp Road, Saint Paul, MN 55121, Attention: OmniMount Safety Upgrade Kit. OmniMount believes that most consumers, with a little assistance, can easily and safely install the Safety Upgrade Kit.

It is important that all FP-CL/37ARM units shipped between June 1, 2005 and December 15, 2005; all Plasma CL/48ARM units shipped between March 3, 2005 and December 15, 2005; and all Plasma UCL/48ARMUA units shipped between November 2, 2004 and December 15, 2005 be modified with this Safety Upgrade Kit. Use of the mount without this Safety Upgrade Kit may result in loosening of the wrist pin and, in rare cases, mount failure, which could result in property damage or personal injury. Until the Safety Upgrade Kit is installed, it is safe to use your flat panel, but we advise against movement of the flat panel.

No other OmniMount products are affected.
